Song of the singers
This is the text of our town’s song
We are the singers of Finsterwalde,
we live and die for singing.
Every child knows that we are the singers,
We live and die for singing.
When our fathers were still boys,
they were already singing the German song.
Carpenters sang it, and also the bakers,
the teacher, magistrate, merchant, blacksmith.
The weavers went to the market in Leipzig.
Singing birds took you to the country.
These were the singers of Finsterwalde,
They soon became known in the world.

About us
In 2016, we received an invitation to an entrepreneurs’ roundtable from the council of Finsterwalde. A town hall was planned and. There was a mood of optimism – also with us and we considered what we could do in this context.
Then in 2019 we received an offer from the previous owner of the house to buy it. She asked us to do something nice with it.
It should not become a residential or commercial space. A hotel would do the best service to the historical significance of the house.
The building once housed a cigar manufactory. The first floor was the entrepreneur’s apartment, the upper floor was the production area, and the attic was storage and drying rooms. In 2020, we were granted a building permit. Today it holds 19 fully-equipped hotel rooms.
